Dharma Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Sheshavatar Temple in Ayodhya on June 23, Both Deputy CMs to Attend

Ayodhya: Preparations are underway for the grand Dharma Dhwaja Arohan (religious flag hoisting) ceremony scheduled to be held on June 23 at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex’s Sheshavatar Lakshman Temple in Ayodhya.

According to the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the event will witness the participation of around 1,000 guests, including saints, religious leaders, representatives of spiritual organisations, public representatives, and members of various social groups from across the country.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya have also been invited to attend the ceremony.

Trust officials said preparations for the June 23 event are progressing alongside arrangements for the Dharma flag hoisting ceremony at the Maa Durga Temple, another auxiliary temple within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, scheduled for May 29. The May 29 ceremony will reportedly be conducted by Sadhvi Ritambhara and is expected to see participation from nearly 2,000 women associated with Durga Vahini and various women’s organisations.

The Trust has been organising special Dharma flag hoisting ceremonies at the supplementary temples located within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. Religious flags have already been hoisted at five auxiliary temples situated along the temple parikrama route.

The Sheshavatar Lakshman Temple will be the final supplementary shrine in the complex where the Dharma flag will be ceremonially raised, marking the completion of the sequence of flag-hoisting events at all auxiliary temples.

Located in the south-western section of the Ram Temple complex, the Sheshavatar Temple houses the idol of Lord Lakshman, which was consecrated on June 5 last year along with idols in other supplementary shrines. Devotees have been allowed darshan at the temple since April 13 this year.

The upcoming ceremony is expected to add another spiritual milestone to the ongoing religious activities at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, which continues to draw devotees and visitors from across India and abroad.
