Congress Leaders Pay Tribute to Sanjay Gandhi on His Death Anniversary; Hail His Visionary Leadership

Lucknow — On the solemn occasion of the death anniversary of renowned Indian politician Sanjay Gandhi, a tribute ceremony was organized at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters, where senior leaders remembered him as a visionary youth icon who left a lasting impact on Indian politics in a short span of time.

Uttar Pradesh Congress President and former minister Ajay Rai led the homage by offering floral tributes to the portrait of the late leader. Speaking at the event, Rai described Sanjay Gandhi as a dynamic and exceptionally talented youth leader, whose charisma and energy attracted massive support from young Indians across the country.

Sanjay Gandhi was ahead of his time. His foresight and firm actions made him stand out as a pathbreaker,” Rai said. “Whether it was launching mass tree plantation drives to protect the environment or widening city roads to prepare for future traffic demands — his initiatives were far-sighted and are serving the country even today.

Rai also highlighted Sanjay Gandhi’s early recognition of India’s population growth as a pressing national issue. He noted that the late leader had launched proactive and sometimes controversial campaigns to address this challenge, underlining his commitment to long-term national progress.

Prominent Congress leaders, including former UPCC Vice-President Dinesh Singh, Media Department Chairman and former minister Dr. C.P. Rai, State Spokesperson Dr. Uma Shankar Pandey, and senior leaders Dwijendra Tripathi, Birendra Madan, Amarnath Agrawal, Krishnakant Pandey, Vijay Bahadur, Brijendra Singh, Chandrashekhar Mishra, Dr. Amit Rai, Narendra Tripathi, Badre Alam, Aryan Mishra, and Dr. Shravan Gupta, were also present and paid their heartfelt tributes.
