CM Yogi talks of tough measures against Hathras culprits

Hathras: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made it clear  that whoever is responsible for the Hathras incident will be punished. No culprit will be spared. For this, CM Yogi has also ordered a judicial inquiry under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge. After inspecting and reviewing the spot in Hathras as well as meeting the injured, CM Yogi spoke about getting to the bottom of the whole incident through a press conference.

He said that the inside arrangement in this entire event was done by the sevadars associated with the event, while the administration had made police arrangements outside, but the sevadars fled from there immediately after the accident. They did not even make any arrangements to take the people to the hospital after the accident.

CM Yogi said that for this entire incident, we have constituted an SIT under the chairmanship of ADG Agra, which has given its preliminary report. He has been asked to get to the bottom of this incident. There are many such aspects, which are very necessary to be investigated. On the question of no FIR against Bhole Baba, CM Yogi said that prima facie FIR is lodged against those who had sought permission for the application. After this its scope increases. Certainly, all those who are responsible for this incident will come under its scope.

Devotees from Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh also among the dead

During the press conference, CM Yogi said that a sad and painful incident took place in a village of Sikandrarao tehsil of Hathras district on Tuesday. We took steps at the government level on Tuesday itself to get to the bottom of this entire incident. 121 devotees died in this accident who are associated with Uttar Pradesh as well as Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, there are some devotees from 16 districts including Hathras, Badaun, Kasganj, Aligarh, Etah, Lalitpur, Agra, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Mathura, Auraiya, Bulandshahr, Pilibhit, Sambhal and Lakhimpur Kheri who have become victims of this accident. Out of 121, 6 deceased were from other states, including one from Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), 4 from Haryana and one from Rajasthan. Among the injured, 31 are being treated in hospitals in Hathras, Aligarh, Etah and Agra and all are out of danger.

Sewadars tried to suppress the matter

CM Yogi said that the seriously injured people told in the conversation that the accident happened when the convoy of the storyteller came on GT Road after the program, a group of women moved towards him to touch him. A crowd followed them and after this they started climbing over each other. Sevadars also kept pushing people, due to which this accident happened on both sides of GT Road. The most sad aspect of this was that during such programs, the sevadars who do not allow the administration to enter, immediately after the accident, they tried to suppress the matter. But when the administration started the process of taking the injured to the hospital, most of the sevadars ran away from there.

SOP will be determined along with judicial inquiry

CM Yogi said that till now our action at first sight was that after carrying forward the relief and rescue work, the organizers will be called for questioning. They will be talked to about the reasons of the incident and the accountability of the negligence and those responsible in the incident will be decided. We cannot deny that this type of incident is only an accident. If it is an accident, then who is responsible for it and if not an accident, then whose conspiracy is it. Looking at all these aspects, the state government has decided that we will also get a judicial inquiry done on this. The judicial inquiry will be headed by a retired judge of the High Court, in which retired senior officials of the administration and police will also be kept and whoever is guilty for this will be punished by getting to the bottom of this entire incident. He said that the notification of judicial inquiry will be issued today itself. Also, a suggestion and SOP will be made through them to prevent recurrence of such an incident, which will be implemented in such events in future.

Special teams will be sent to different districts

CM Yogi said that today he himself visited the incident site in Hathras and Sikandrarao. Although there was a lot of rain there, despite this, he went there and tried to see the initial arrangements for the causes of the accident. Our three ministers, Chief Secretary and DGP have been camping here since the accident. Senior police and administration officials are also camping here and working towards fixing the accountability of those responsible for this incident. Some special teams have been formed for this, through which action will start in different districts. After the initial investigation, we will work to take forward the further action.

Politics is the tendency of the opposition

Regarding the politics being done by the opposition leaders on the accident, CM Yogi said that some people have this tendency that they find politics even in such sad and painful incidents. Such people have the nature of theft as well as arrogance. Every person knows with whom the narrator Sajjan’s photos are. With whom are his political relations connected. You must have seen where such stampedes took place during rallies in the past and who was behind them. I think it is necessary to get to the bottom of all this. Those who play with the lives of innocent people will also be held accountable. The CM said that those who are responsible for this will be punished.

We will arrange education for the minor children of the innocent people who have become victims of this accident under the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana. The state government will make arrangements for the education of the minor children of the innocent people studying in the schools or institutions. The Centre and the state are providing a total of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased in the accident and a total of Rs 1 lakh to the injured.

People were dying and the sevadars had fled

CM Yogi said that the administration at first sight assumes that it is a religious event and their sevadars will themselves take responsibility of such events from inside. Big events are held and the administration deploys force there as a precaution, but the force is in the outer ring. If you look inside, their volunteers or sevadars manage the system. People come to such events with religious and spiritual devotion, so the crowd remains disciplined there. But when the same program becomes a toy in the hands of vested selfish elements, then a scene of indiscipline is seen. Its victim ultimately is that innocent person who participates in that event with religious devotion. He does not know about the conspiracy. The conspirators try to quietly slip away after conspiring. What should have happened was that if the accident had happened, the sevadars should have strengthened their system there. And if they were not able to strengthen it, then with the help of the administration, arrangements should have been made to take the injured to the hospital. People were dying in the accident and the sevadars had fled from there. We will come to its conclusion and take strict action against those responsible.
