Bareilly: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level review meeting at the Circuit House auditorium in Bareilly on Tuesday to assess the proposed development plans and new infrastructure projects of the Public Works Department (PWD) across Bareilly Division.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department, Ajay Chauhan, presented a comprehensive overview of the division’s proposed infrastructure roadmap. He informed the Chief Minister that 2,155 development works worth ₹5,121 crore have been proposed across the division.
The proposed projects include the construction and upgrading of six state highways, 56 Major District Roads (MDRs) and Other District Roads (ODRs), one bypass, 23 religious and heritage-related projects, six logistics and industrial connectivity projects, one ISC road, 394 sugar mill-related road projects, 255 new construction works, one CRIF road project, 35 road safety initiatives, 91 major and minor bridges in rural areas, two bridges in urban areas, four Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and repair and maintenance work on 1,280 roads.
Reviewing constituency-wise proposals, the Chief Minister directed Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly to prioritize development works according to the needs of their respective constituencies. He urged elected representatives to submit any modifications or recommendations without delay so that project approvals could be completed by July 15, 2026, followed by the release of funds.
The Chief Minister further instructed officials to ensure that foundation stones for approved projects are laid by August 15, 2026, enabling construction activities to commence promptly.
Emphasizing accountability and efficiency, Yogi Adityanath called for robust monitoring mechanisms to ensure that all projects are completed within stipulated timelines while maintaining high quality standards. He stressed that infrastructure development plays a critical role in accelerating economic growth, improving connectivity, and enhancing public services throughout the region.

The review meeting brought together several senior political leaders and government officials. Among those present were Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics & Information Technology Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B. L. Verma, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh, Forest and Environment Minister Dr. Arun Kumar, Cooperative Minister J. P. S. Rathore, Minister of State for Public Works Brijesh Singh, and Minister of State for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Sanjay Singh Gangwar.
Also attending were Bareilly Mayor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Bareilly MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, Shahjahanpur MP Arun Sagar, members of the Legislative Council, MLAs from Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur districts, along with District Magistrate Avinash Singh and senior divisional and district-level PWD officials.
The meeting underscored the state government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development in Bareilly Division through strategic planning, timely approvals, and rigorous project monitoring.
