Bulgarian President thanks PM Modi for saving ship

New Delhi: The rescue of the Bulgarian ship ‘Rouen’ and its crew by the Indian Navy is being seen as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s massive popularity on the global stage. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi by posting on Twitter, which has received a lot of appreciation and response from users on the social media platform.

The Bulgarian President said in his post, “My heartfelt gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for the brave action of the Navy in rescuing the hijacked Bulgarian ship ‘Rouen’ and its crew including 7 Bulgarian citizens.

This message attracted them more than any other post shared on X. His message, posted on X on March 18, has received over 20 lakh impressions, 25,000 likes and 5,400 reposts so far.

The traction the message received was the highest ever posted on X by the Bulgarian President. For example, the second most viewed message from President Radev received 57 thousand views, 74 likes, and 87 reposts.

Additionally, most of the posts from his handle have received less than 100 likes and 10-15 reposts, with an average impression of not more than 15 thousand.

President Radev’s X message thanking PM Modi for the Indian Navy’s heroic role in rescuing the Bulgarian ship testifies to the tremendous popularity, clout and influence of Prime Minister Modi on the global and domestic fronts.

Just two weeks ago, PM Modi emerged as the world’s most popular leader with an approval rating of 78 per cent.

Earlier, while appreciating the gratitude of the President of Bulgaria towards the Indian Navy, PM Modi in a message on X said that President @PresidentOfBg appreciates your message. We are glad that the 7 Bulgarian citizens are safe and will return home soon. India is committed to protecting freedom of navigation and combating piracy and terrorism in the Indian Ocean region.
