Bareilly: In a remarkable sporting achievement, two real brothers from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University secured top honours at the All India Inter-University Ju-Jitsu Championship being held at LNCT University.
Under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh and the efforts of Sports Secretary S. S. Bedi, the university fielded its Ju-Jitsu team for the first time in the national-level competition, scheduled from April 20 to 24 in Bhopal.
Delivering an outstanding performance, Dikshant clinched the gold medal in the 62 kg weight category in the Newaza style, showcasing exceptional skill and determination. His brother Digvijay also impressed with a strong performance, securing the bronze medal in the 69 kg category in the same discipline. Their achievement has brought immense pride to the university and the sporting community.
Expressing his happiness, Prof. K. P. Singh said that the brothers’ success is not only a personal milestone but also a reflection of the university’s growing sports culture and discipline. He highlighted that two siblings winning medals simultaneously on a national platform is a matter of great गौरव and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing world-class facilities and guidance to its athletes.

Sports Secretary S. S. Bedi praised the players, noting that winning medals in a demanding discipline like Newaza style reflects their hard work, dedication, and structured training. He reiterated the department’s commitment to holistic development of athletes and expressed confidence in their future success.
The medal winners were also congratulated by Registrar Harish Chand, Examination Controller Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Campus Sports Secretary Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Co-Sports Secretary Dr. Ajit Singh, Dr. Vijay Kumar Singhal, Assistant Sports Secretaries Dr. Iram Naeem and Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, along with the Ju-Jitsu team coach and manager.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the university’s sports programme and is expected to inspire more students to excel in competitive sports at the national level.
