Blood sugar issues troubling Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: Diabetes-stricken Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels are fluctuating and his health has deteriorated during his stay in Enforcement Directorate custody, Aam Aadmi Party sources claimed on Wednesday. AAP sources claimed that Kejriwal’s blood sugar level fell to 46 mg/dL at one point, which doctors considered “very dangerous”.

Earlier in the day, chief minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said she met Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday evening and expressed concern about his health in view of his diabetes and fluctuating sugar levels.

Sunita Kejriwal said that I met Arvind Kejriwal in jail yesterday, he has diabetes and his sugar level is not under control. However, his resolve is strong. He appealed to the people to pray for his health. It is noteworthy that AAP’s national coordinator was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in a money laundering case related to excise duty policy. He is in ED custody till March 28. Kejriwal has challenged his arrest in the court.

It has been alleged that the Delhi government’s 2021-22 excise policy for granting licenses to liquor traders allowed cartelization and favored some dealers who allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge refuted by AAP. Denied again and again. The policy was later scrapped and Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation, following which the ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
