Bhatkhande Sanskriti University Organises Grand and Inspiring Yoga Programme on International Yoga Day

Lucknow: Bhatkhande Sanskriti University, Lucknow, celebrated International Yoga Day with a grand, well-organized, and inspiring yoga programme on Sunday. The event was conducted in a vibrant and dignified atmosphere, bringing together faculty members, officers, staff, and a large number of students who actively participated in the celebrations and embraced the significance of yoga.

The programme commenced at 7:00 a.m. and followed the prescribed Common Yoga Protocol. Participants engaged in a series of yoga postures, pranayama exercises, and meditation practices under the guidance of experienced yoga instructors.

The session included various asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Shalabhasana, and Pawanmuktasana, aimed at enhancing flexibility, strength, and overall well-being. Participants also practiced Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, and Bhramari Pranayama, along with meditation techniques designed to promote mental clarity, emotional balance, and inner peace.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mandavi Singh highlighted the holistic value of yoga in modern life.

“Yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise; it is a comprehensive way of life that establishes harmony between the body, mind, and soul. In today’s fast-paced world, the importance of yoga has increased significantly. It not only keeps us healthy but also enhances our efficiency, concentration, and overall quality of life,” she said.

Prof. Singh further emphasized that Bhatkhande Sanskriti University remains committed to preserving and promoting India’s rich knowledge traditions, including the timeless practice of yoga. She urged students and employees to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine and adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

During the programme, yoga experts also explained the scientific and practical benefits of yoga, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of its positive impact on physical and mental health. The university campus resonated with an atmosphere of discipline, energy, positivity, and collective well-being throughout the event.

The successful organization of the programme was made possible under the guidance of University Registrar S.P. Singh, with significant contributions from the university administration, faculty members, staff, and students.

The event concluded with all participants taking a pledge to practice yoga regularly and uphold the spirit of the ancient Sanskrit prayer “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May all beings be happy). The celebration reinforced the message of holistic wellness, harmony, and the enduring relevance of yoga in contemporary society.
