Avinash Singh calls for timely solar inspections, subsidy payments and loan disbursals
Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting of the district-level committee at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium on Friday to review the implementation and monitoring of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

The DM directed officials to comply with government guidelines, achieve prescribed targets and intensify public awareness efforts to ensure that more eligible households benefit from the scheme.
During the meeting, vendors working under the scheme reported that delays by the electricity department in inspecting installed rooftop solar systems were creating difficulties for applicants in obtaining electricity connections and subsidies.
Taking note of the complaints, Singh instructed electricity department officials to ensure that inspections of solar systems installed by vendors are completed within the stipulated time so that eligible beneficiaries receive their subsidies without unnecessary delays.

Reviewing banking operations, the DM expressed displeasure over pending scheme-related files and directed banks to expedite their disposal. He instructed the Lead Bank Manager to hold a weekly meeting with bankers to review progress, resolve pending cases and clear the backlog.
Singh also directed all banks to ensure timely disbursal of sanctioned loans, stressing that beneficiaries should not face avoidable difficulties. He warned that negligence in implementing the scheme, which is among the government’s priorities, would not be tolerated.
Officials were further asked to expand publicity and awareness activities to encourage eligible families to install rooftop solar panels. The scheme aims to promote solar energy use in households while reducing dependence on conventional electricity and lowering power expenses.
Chief Development Officer Devyani, the Lead Bank Manager, officials from concerned departments and all empanelled Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) vendors attended the meeting.
