Appeasement Politics Rejected, Nation Stands with Development and Nationalism: Dr Rajeshwar Singh

Lucknow: BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh has asserted that appeasement-driven politics is losing ground in India, claiming that voters are increasingly aligning with development, security, and nationalism.

In a strongly worded statement, Singh said the changing political mood is evident in the reaction of Akhilesh Yadav, alleging that opposition leaders are unsettled as public support shifts away from “casteism, dynastic politics, appeasement, and the glorification of criminals.”

Referring to political developments in West Bengal, Singh claimed that what he described as an “appeasement model” has failed, and that voters have rejected policies perceived to be driven by vote-bank considerations. He further alleged that issues such as restrictions around religious events and illegal immigration have contributed to public dissatisfaction.

The MLA also criticized what he termed as “criminal-centric politics,” making references to figures like Mukhtar Ansari and Atiq Ahmed, and said the electorate no longer supports such trends. According to him, voters now prefer governance focused on law and order, economic progress, and cultural identity.

Highlighting religious sentiments, Singh said matters linked to Lord Ram and broader Sanatan traditions remain significant for millions. He added that the public has not forgotten past controversies involving religious beliefs, and this continues to influence political choices.

He also defended democratic institutions, stating that electoral outcomes are determined solely by the people. “No leader wins elections through officials alone. If that were the case, governments would never lose. In a democracy, the जनता is supreme,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Singh emphasized that the public message is clear: politics perceived as prioritizing appeasement over faith and governance will no longer be accepted.
