Lucknow: Lucknow Police conducted an Anti-Romeo campaign across the Hazratganj area to strengthen women’s safety and increase awareness among students and the public.
The campaign was carried out under the direction of Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, Joint Commissioner of Police Bablu Kumar, Hazratganj ACP Rajneesh Verma and Inspector Vikram Singh.
As part of the drive, the Anti-Romeo and Pink Scooty teams visited National PG College and interacted with female students. The teams briefed students about personal safety, staying alert in public places and approaching police for assistance whenever required.
Students were also encouraged to immediately inform the police about any suspicious activity or individuals around them.
Following the awareness programme, the teams patrolled various parts of Hazratganj, keeping watch over public places and surrounding areas. During the patrol, police stopped and questioned several individuals considered suspicious and sought information about their activities.
Inspector Vikram Singh maintained a strict approach during the checking exercise. Police officials said similar awareness, patrolling and checking drives would continue in the Hazratganj area as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a safer environment for women and girls.
