Lucknow – Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus celebrated a momentous milestone with its Convocation and Degree Distribution Ceremony – 2024. This grand occasion celebrated the remarkable achievements of 1,531 graduates across undergraduate and postgraduate programs and the conferral of 64 doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees.
The university honoured students from diverse disciplines, including Management, Engineering, Law, Psychology, Fine Arts, and Fashion Technology. The grand event for the Class of 2024 included the conferment of degrees, diplomas, certificates, and 126 prestigious awards, including 34 gold, 35 silver, and 16 bronze medals, along with 07 Best All-Round Student Trophies. Additionally, 35 Shri Baljit Shastri Awards for Excellence in Human and Traditional Values were also presented during the ceremony.
The university also awarded Honorary Professorships to Sudhir Mishra, Resident Editor, Navbharat Times, Lucknow and Vinod Pandey, Cluster GM, Hotel Taj Lucknow, for their significant contributions.
The Chairman of Amity University Lucknow Campus, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, also graced the Convocation and Degree Distribution Ceremony.
The convocation began with an academic procession led by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Dean Academics, accompanied by prominent academic leaders, including Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisth, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus; Wg. Cdr. Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Pro-VC; Prof. Qamar Rahman, Dean Research, Science & Technology; along with all Heads of Institutions and Heads of Departments of the respective departments.
Addressing the graduands and parents Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chairman of Amity University Lucknow Campus, said that “There is one thing I am very sure about: whatever you do in life, whatever path you choose, and whatever area you pursue, each one of you is going to achieve the highest levels of success. You will care not only for yourselves but also for your family, society, and community, because that is the DNA of an Amitian.”
He added “This event is about celebrating the achievements of the most brilliant graduates. It is also a celebration of the graduates’ families, recognizing that success is not only the result of individual effort but also the guidance and support of loved ones.”
Dr. Aseem Chauhan also shared the vision of the Founder-President of the Amity Education Group, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, and said that his guiding mantra is “BHAAG”—Behavioral Science, Human Values, Attitude, Ambition, and God—as a formula for lifelong success. Dr. Aseem emphasized the importance of human values alongside academic rigor.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder-President of the Amity Group, who addressed the ceremony virtually, said that “I have faith that every Amitian will contribute to making India a global superpower.” He saluted the parents, stating “Parents believe in me and bring their children to Amity University. The knowledge, skills, and values imparted here are the foundation upon which you will build your future, making you capable of achieving whatever you aspire to.”
Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisth, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus, highlighted the pioneering accomplishments of Amity University. Dr. Vashisth said: “Amity is a leading scientific research and innovation-driven university where the holistic development of students is of utmost importance.” Congratulating the graduands, the Pro-VC added: “Be good ambassadors of the university and shine with high moral values and integrity. The world is waiting for you to go forth, make your mark, and always remember that your alma mater will be cheering for you every step of the way.”
This mega ceremony was a grand event for the graduates who received their coveted degrees, the assembled guests, and all those associated with Amity University Lucknow Campus.
