Mumbai: TV actor Akanksha Puri is all set to captivate audiences with her powerful portrayal of Naaz, the daughter of a notorious Don, in her latest production “Dons and Darlings.” In a recent interview, the actress shared her excitement about stepping into a role that allows her to explore various facets of her character. Akanksha expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to delve into a character that was vastly different from her own life.
“I feel very lucky to explore so many different aspects of a single character. Naaz is a lover, a wife, a daughter, and a part of a powerful family. Her desire for love and connection is something that I think many people will relate to. It’s been a thrilling experience,” Akanksha said, reflecting on the complexity of her character.
While Akanksha hails from a family with ties to law enforcement, being the daughter of an Assistant Police Commissioner, she embraced the challenge of portraying Naaz, a character immersed in the criminal world. The actress took great care to understand the nuances of Naaz’s life, connections, and struggles.
The drama, available on Altt since December 27, 2024, follows two infamous criminals, Sikandar and Balraj, as they compete for power in the underworld while indulging in lavish and reckless lifestyles. Akanksha’s character, Naaz, plays a significant role in this intense narrative, blending her personal struggles with the criminal backdrop.
Talking about her experience working with her co-stars, Akanksha shared that the chemistry on set was natural and effortless. “It was a wonderful experience working with Manish Khanna and Imran Khan. The chemistry was organic, and shooting was fun and smooth because everyone was so ready and enthusiastic, even though I hadn’t worked with them before.”
Akanksha also discussed her second collaboration with ALTT after Honey Trap Squad, praising the network for their quick, efficient, and creative approach to production. She expressed her eagerness to continue working with them in future projects.
Alongside Akanksha, Manish Khanna (known for Naagin) and Imran Khan (from Beyhadh) take on pivotal roles in this gripping thriller. The series promises to deliver suspense, drama, and intense character arcs as the story unfolds.
