Lucknow: With Diwali, Dhanteras, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja approaching, the Lucknow Police have intensified security arrangements across the city to ensure peaceful celebrations. As part of the preparations, senior police officials conducted a foot march in Hazratganj on Wednesday evening to review security arrangements in busy markets and sensitive locations.
The march was led by Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Bablu Kumar, IPS, and included DCP Central Arpit Vijayvargiya, IPS, ADCP Traffic Raghavendra Singh and other police personnel. During the exercise, officers interacted with shopkeepers and traders, listened to their security concerns and assured them of adequate police protection.
The police have decided to strengthen patrolling and increase personnel deployment over the next 10 days. DCPs, ACPs and police station in-charges across all zones have been directed to conduct regular foot patrols and maintain close contact with traders.

Special attention will also be given to crowded marketplaces and major intersections. Traffic police teams will be deployed at key junctions and market areas to manage the expected increase in vehicular movement.
The police have appealed to residents to follow traffic rules and official advisories and celebrate the festivals peacefully. The enhanced security measures aim to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic movement during the festive season.
