Ayodhya’s Traditional Products Find Global Market at Noida Trade Show

Ayodhya: Traditional products from Ayodhya, including kulhad dahi-jalebi, peda and chikankari garments, attracted considerable attention at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Noida, providing local entrepreneurs with new business opportunities, orders and access to international buyers.

Local enterprises such as Poonam Singh Embroidery and Couch, Maurya Sweets Bhandar and Maurya Sweets and Cafe participated in the event, recording encouraging business activity and interacting with buyers from the United States, the United Kingdom and Dubai.

Deep Narayan Maurya, proprietor of Maurya Sweets Bhandar, showcased traditional kulhad dahi-jalebi under the One District One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative, generating a daily turnover of around Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000. Pammie Maurya of Maurya Sweets and Cafe presented peda, which received interest from domestic and international visitors.

Chikankari garments displayed by Poonam Singh also witnessed strong demand. She secured orders following meetings with buyers from the US, UK and Dubai, as well as mall managers from Jaipur and Delhi. Her participation reportedly generated a profit of around Rs 5 lakh.

Ayodhya-based Highflow Industries also explored expansion opportunities, connecting with 20 to 25 potential dealers and startups.

District Deputy Commissioner of Industries Prabhat Ranjan Shukla said government initiatives, including ODOC, ODOP and MSME promotion schemes, along with administrative support, were helping local entrepreneurs access wider markets, strengthen business networks and explore international trade opportunities.
