Rae Bareli: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rae Bareli, organised the closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight-2026, held from September 14 to 29 to promote the Hindi language and encourage greater use of Hindi as the official language in institutional work.
Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Rae Bareli, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Jain, attended the programme as the chief guest. The fortnight featured a series of competitions for students, faculty members, officers and employees, including poetry recitation, an open quiz, objective tests, essay writing, speech, rangoli and poster, slogan and creative competitions. Participants took part enthusiastically in the activities.
The ceremony began with Vande Mataram and the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Programme coordinator Dr Amit Kumar Srivastava welcomed the guests, while Hindi Officer Saurabh Kumar presented a detailed account of the competitions conducted during the fortnight and announced the winners.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Jain highlighted the importance of Hindi and encouraged faculty, officers and employees to increase the use of the language in the institute’s day-to-day administrative and academic work. She also appreciated the active participation of students and staff in the various competitions.
A special poetry session was organised during the ceremony, in which winners from the student and employee categories presented their compositions. Senior faculty members Prof. Pragati Garg, Prof. Bholanath, Dr Tarun Prakash Maheshwari and Dr Gaurav Trivedi also presented their poetry.
In the concluding segment, Dr Jain and other dignitaries presented cash prizes and encouragement awards to the winners of the various competitions.
Dean (Examinations) Dr Pragati Garg, Deputy Director (Administration) Colonel Akhilesh Singh, Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, senior faculty members, officers, employees and students attended the programme. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Rupali.
