Ayodhya’s Dahi-Jalebi and Khurchan Peda Take Centre Stage at UP International Trade Show

Ayodhya: Traditional delicacies and MSME products from Ayodhya are being showcased on a global platform at the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS-2026), being held at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida from September 25 to 29.

The Ayodhya stall features the city’s popular kulhad dahi-jalebi and khurchan peda under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Alongside these traditional foods, chikankari handicrafts and battery manufacturing products are also being displayed, highlighting the district’s diverse entrepreneurial potential.

According to the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Deep Narayan Maurya is presenting kulhad dahi-jalebi through a live kitchen, while Pammi Maurya Food Packaging is showcasing peda. Both participants are from Chhoti Devkali. Poonam Singh from Ramnagar Dhausra is displaying chikankari products, while Surajkant from Mumtaz Nagar is representing the battery manufacturing sector.

Officials said Ayodhya’s traditional foods reflect its cultural identity, while chikankari represents its rich handicraft heritage. Industrial products such as batteries highlight local entrepreneurship and employment potential.

Deputy Commissioner Industries Prabhat Ranjan Shukla said the Ayodhya stall has been specially designed to offer visitors an experience of the city’s traditional flavours, craftsmanship and emerging enterprise.
