Lucknow: A meeting of the Divisional Industry Bandhu Committee was held at the Niryaat Bhawan Auditorium under the chairmanship of Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant to review key issues concerning industrial areas and entrepreneurs across the division.
The committee reviewed waterlogging in the Amausi, Sarojini Nagar and Banthra industrial areas. Representatives of C&DS informed the committee that the proposal for drainage works had been submitted to the Urban Development Department and approval had been granted for preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR). Pant directed that the DPR be prepared and submitted to the government by October 10, 2026.
The committee was also informed that sewerage and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) works in the Amausi and Sarojini Nagar industrial areas, being undertaken by Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, are scheduled for completion by March 2027. Officials were directed to adhere to the deadline.
Industrial representatives raised issues related to utility shifting during the widening and strengthening of a 925-metre road. The committee directed concerned departments to resolve the issue promptly.
The committee also discussed excessive maintenance charges reportedly being levied by UPSIDA compared with the Municipal Corporation. It decided to send a letter, signed by the Divisional Commissioner, to the UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer regarding the issue raised by entrepreneurs from Raebareli.
Another issue concerned the transfer of industrial estates in Raebareli to the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre. Industrial representatives said layouts and other documents had not yet been handed over. The committee decided to write to the UPSIDA CEO to ensure that the required documents are provided.
The committee reviewed progress under the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana, One District One Product Financing Scheme and Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. As Raebareli’s progress was below the prescribed standards, directions were issued to seek improvement, while other districts were instructed to achieve 100% of their targets.
Senior officials from the administration, police, fire services, UPSIDA, Jal Nigam, Public Works Department, banks, industrial organisations and entrepreneurs attended the meeting.
