Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 35 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in a major police reshuffle, with changes made across police commissionerates, districts, specialised units and headquarters. The transfer order was issued on September 19, with several officers receiving new assignments in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Agra, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur and other districts.
Among the prominent changes, IPS officer Charu Nigam has been shifted from her position as Superintendent of Police, UP-112, Lucknow, and appointed Commandant of the 47th Battalion PAC in Ghaziabad. The latest posting comes shortly after her transfer to UP-112, making it her second posting change within a short period.
Nigam had earlier served as Superintendent of Police in Sultanpur before being moved to UP-112. Her tenure in Sultanpur had attracted public attention, including developments surrounding police transfers and postings. Following her departure, Nigam had publicly stated that motherhood should not be viewed as a weakness and said she had continued to discharge her responsibilities during her tenure in the district.
The reshuffle also brings significant changes in several commissionerates. Shravan Kumar Singh has been transferred from DCP, Kanpur Nagar, to DCP, Gautam Buddh Nagar, while Pramod Kumar has moved from DCP, Varanasi, to SP, Cyber Headquarters, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Ravi Shankar Neem has been shifted from Gautam Buddh Nagar to Commandant of the 2nd Battalion SSF, Gorakhpur.
Other key postings include Atul Sharma as SP, Intelligence Headquarters, Lucknow; Sonam Kumar as DCP, Prayagraj; Ravindra Kumar as DCP, Agra; Neeraj Kumar Pandey as SP, Police Headquarters, Prayagraj; Mamta Rani Chaudhary as SP, CID, Lucknow; and Saad Mian Khan as DCP, Agra.
Shruti Srivastava has been transferred from Additional DCP, Varanasi, to Additional DCP, Prayagraj. Vikram Dahiya has moved from ASP, Pilibhit, to ASP, Chandauli, while Ayush Srivastava has been posted as SP City, Unnao, after serving as SP City, Jaunpur.
The reshuffle also includes officers recently promoted to the IPS cadre, with new responsibilities assigned across Lucknow, Agra, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Varanasi and other locations. The government has thus made changes across multiple levels of the state police establishment in the latest round of postings.
