Belwa Nohar: The Cultural Committee of Upper Primary School, Belwa Nohar, organised a creative programme titled ‘Mehendi Ke Rang Bachchon Ke Sang’ to encourage students to connect with traditional folk art, the significance of festivals and their cultural roots.
The event provided students with an opportunity to express themselves through mehendi designs and creative posters. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their artistic skills while exploring themes connected with culture and the environment.
15 Students Participate in Mehendi Competition
A total of 15 students from Classes 7 and 8 participated in the mehendi competition. The children created attractive and intricate designs on their hands, displaying imagination, patience and artistic ability.
Manvi secured the first position in the competition, while Palak stood second. Chhaya, Mahek and Nasreen jointly secured the third position.
The competition generated considerable excitement among the students and gave them a platform to appreciate mehendi as an important form of traditional Indian folk art.
Posters Highlight Environment and Science
Alongside the mehendi competition, students also demonstrated their creativity through poster-making. Their work explored a range of themes, including environmental awareness and science, allowing the children to combine artistic expression with educational messages.
The programme aimed not only to nurture creativity but also to help students understand the importance of preserving traditional art forms and developing awareness about issues affecting society and the environment.
The initiative provided a meaningful blend of culture, creativity and learning, encouraging young students to express their ideas while remaining connected to their heritage.
