Meerut: The Janata Dal United (JDU) stepped up its organisational activities in western Uttar Pradesh with a divisional conference and welcome-cum-felicitation ceremony held at Khandoli village in Meerut district, marking the party’s preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
JDU Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Bihar Cabinet Minister Shravan Kumar, along with state president Anoop Singh Patel, was accorded a warm welcome by party office-bearers and workers during the event. Youth state president Prashant Kumar Singh was also felicitated.
The leaders were presented with angavastrams and bouquets, while party workers also honoured them by presenting idols depicting Lord Ram and Lord Buddha seated in meditation beneath the Bodhi tree.
The programme was conducted by Meerut district JDU president Chaudhary Riazuddin, Advocate. Meerut divisional in-charge Kushwaha, state secretary and Saharanpur divisional in-charge Kapil Dev Jain, youth state president Prashant Kumar Singh, Kisan Cell state president Chaudhary Jaiveer Singh, along with district presidents, state office-bearers and functionaries of various organisational cells from several districts, attended the conference.
‘Take the Organisation to Every Village and Booth’
Addressing party workers, Shravan Kumar said organisational strength depends on the active participation and dedication of grassroots workers. He urged party workers to stand firmly with their respective district presidents and take the party’s policies, ideology and welfare initiatives to villages and people across the state.
Kumar highlighted the work undertaken by the Bihar government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in areas including social justice, good governance, development and social reforms. He said it was an important responsibility of JDU workers to communicate such public-oriented initiatives to people.
He said JDU was continuously expanding its organisational network in Uttar Pradesh. If the party leadership takes a decision to contest the 2027 Assembly elections, JDU could field candidates from various constituencies in the state, he said.
Kumar called upon workers not to wait for the formal announcement of the elections but to begin preparations immediately and devote their full energy to organisational expansion.
‘One Booth–10 Youth’ Campaign
JDU Uttar Pradesh president Anoop Singh Patel directed district presidents and state office-bearers to begin preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections without delay.
He said the real strength of any political organisation lies in its booth-level workers. To strengthen the grassroots network, he called for effective implementation of the “One Booth–10 Youth” campaign across Uttar Pradesh, with a target of building teams of at least 10 active young workers at every booth.
Patel instructed district presidents to expand the organisation at the assembly constituency, divisional, sector and booth levels and assign responsibilities to active and dedicated workers.
He said the party would continue efforts to build a strong, disciplined and active organisation and establish JDU as an effective political alternative in Uttar Pradesh.
Meerut Unit Assures Expansion
Meerut district president Chaudhary Riazuddin assured the state leadership that the district organisation would work with full commitment to take JDU’s organisational network to every village and booth.
He said organisational activities would be intensified keeping the 2027 Assembly elections in mind. Details regarding potential constituencies, active workers and organisational preparations would also be compiled and shared with the state leadership, he said.
Riazuddin appealed to workers to maintain coordination, discipline and unity while taking the party’s policies and programmes to the public.
Saharanpur Team Joins Conference
The JDU Saharanpur district team also participated actively in the conference at Khandoli under the leadership of district president Ahsan Ali.
Chaudhary Mehrban, president of the Minority Cell in Saharanpur district, along with a large number of office-bearers and workers, attended the event. The participation of the Saharanpur team highlighted the party’s efforts to improve organisational coordination and expand its presence across western Uttar Pradesh.
Workers Resolve to Strengthen Booth-Level Network
During the conference, workers raised slogans in support of the party leadership and pledged to strengthen and activate the organisation at the booth level ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
The Meerut divisional conference highlighted JDU’s renewed organisational activity in western Uttar Pradesh and its stated focus on expanding its grassroots network while preparing for the next Assembly elections.
