Mumbai: Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (Ujjivan SFB), one of India’s leading small finance banks, has secured the 8th position in the India’s Best Companies to Work For 2026 list released by Great Place To Work® India. The recognition marks a significant improvement in the bank’s ranking and reinforces its position among the country’s preferred workplaces.
In addition to securing a place among the top 10 companies nationally, Ujjivan SFB has also been recognised among the Top 25 Best Workplaces in BFSI 2026 and the Top 10 Best Workplaces in Health and Wellness 2026. The recognitions reflect the bank’s focus on creating a workplace where employees can grow, develop their careers and perform at their best.
For Ujjivan SFB, the latest ranking represents more than an award. The bank said it reflects its continued efforts to strengthen its workplace culture through greater leadership accessibility, employee wellbeing initiatives, career development opportunities, innovation and mechanisms that enable employees to share their feedback.
Ujjivan SFB has now earned Great Place To Work® recognition for 16 consecutive years. The recognition spans Ujjivan Financial Services Limited (UFSL) from 2009 to 2016 and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (USFB) from 2017 to 2026.
Chandralekha Chowdhury, Head – Human Resources, Ujjivan SFB, said being recognised among India’s best companies to work for is particularly significant because the ranking is based on employee feedback and experiences. She said the recognition demonstrates the trust employees place in the organisation and reflects their candid views about its workplace culture.
Chowdhury added that the bank remains committed to strengthening a culture of trust as it continues to grow, while expressing gratitude to employees whose feedback and contribution helped the organisation achieve the recognition.
Ujjivan SFB’s workplace culture is built around several key areas. The bank continues to invest in employee development through structured learning programmes, leadership initiatives and digital learning. Employees receive access to more than 48 learning hours, while utilisation of its learning management system has reached 99 per cent.

The bank also places emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Women account for 56 per cent of the board and 20 per cent of the top management, reflecting its efforts to create opportunities for diverse talent.
Employee engagement is supported through an AI-enabled feedback platform, leadership town halls and employee forums. These initiatives have contributed to a 93 per cent Great Place To Work® Trust Index.
Career development is another focus area, with employees receiving opportunities through internal career movements, leadership development programmes and a culture of regular recognition.
