Mumbai: This Independence Day, Zee Cinema will honour the courage, patriotism and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces with the World Television Premiere of Border 2. Scheduled for August 15 at 7:30 pm, the much-awaited war drama will make its television debut exclusively on Zee Cinema.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 carries forward the legacy of JP Dutta’s iconic Border, which continues to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences nearly three decades after its release. While retaining the emotional core associated with its predecessor, Border 2 presents the story on a much larger scale, combining high-octane action, a compelling narrative and powerful emotional moments.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, who once again brings intensity and conviction to a story rooted in war and patriotism. Varun Dhawan takes on one of the most challenging roles of his career, while Diljit Dosanjh adds his distinctive screen presence to the battlefield narrative. Ahan Shetty also plays a significant role, marking an important phase in his acting journey.

Speaking about the film and its television premiere, Sunny Deol said that for him, Border carries the same significance that Reality held for his father. He described Border 2 as a celebration of the Armed Forces and an opportunity to remember and honour their courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment. He added that the film is more than a movie premiering on August 15—it is a message for every household about the significance of Independence Day and the values the occasion represents.
Varun Dhawan recalled growing up with Border as more than just a film, describing it as an emotion shared by an entire generation. He said being part of Border 2 felt like becoming part of a legacy connected to the memories of millions of people. Dhawan also highlighted that, beyond the action, the film is fundamentally a story of brotherhood. He particularly remembered the emotional moments shared on screen with Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, portraying three soldiers talking about their homes and loved ones left behind.
