GONDA/CHHAPIYA: Saturday turned into a small celebration for 150 schoolchildren in Veerpur, as volunteers arrived at their primary school with bags full of copies, pens, pencils, erasers, cutters and geometry boxes — all free of cost.
The distribution was carried out under the Mission Education programme, an initiative inspired by Satpal Maharaj, founder of the Manav Utthan Seva Samiti. It took place at Primary School Veerpur (First), in the Chhapiya education block of Gonda district, under the guidance of Mahatma Agochara Bai and Mahatma Maryada Bai, who head the Shri Hans Gyan Ashram’s Babhnan branch in Gonda.
Speaking to the children, Mahatma Agochara Bai and Mahatma Maryada Bai encouraged them to study hard and go on to become doctors, engineers, and soldiers serving the country — but added that alongside their studies, it was just as important not to forget the God who made them. A person becomes truly great, they told the children, not through worldly knowledge alone but through good values and spiritual understanding as well.
School headmaster Radheshyam Verma thanked the Manav Utthan Seva Samiti, its founder Satpal Maharaj, the Mahatmas in charge of the Hans Gyan Ashram in Gonda, and everyone involved for making the gesture possible.
Also present at the event were Ghanshyam Gupta, Umesh Prajapati (Upma Computer Institute), Sadhusharan, Ram Pratap Verma, Shyam Sundar Verma, Laxmi, Shabnam Bano, Shalu, Santosh Verma, Abhimanyu, Subhash and Aman, among others.
