Gonda: Newly appointed District Panchayati Raj Officer (DPRO) Govardhan Das Jain was accorded a warm welcome by members of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Rural Sanitation Workers’ Union in Gonda following his assumption of office.
The reception was led by Raghvendra Tiwari, District President of the union, who felicitated the officer with a bouquet and a floral garland on behalf of the organisation.
Govardhan Das Jain is no stranger to the district, having previously served as the Additional District Panchayati Raj Officer in Gonda. Following the retirement of former DPRO Lalji Dubey on June 30, the District Magistrate had entrusted him with the additional charge. Subsequently, the state government formally appointed him as the District Panchayati Raj Officer, and he assumed charge after the appointment order was issued on July 24.
Addressing the gathering, Jain expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and assured employees that he would discharge the responsibilities entrusted to him by the state government with sincerity and dedication. He urged staff members to perform their duties diligently and assured them that any work-related issues or grievances would be addressed promptly on a priority basis.

The welcome ceremony was attended by several office-bearers of the union, including Loknath Shukla, Block President, Itiyathok; Atul Tiwari, Block President, Mankapur; former General Secretary Shivram Shukla; and members Rampal Yadav, Girish Kumar Srivastava and Kalpnath Tiwari, all of whom congratulated the newly appointed officer and wished him success in his new role.
The event reflected the union’s confidence in the new District Panchayati Raj Officer and its expectation of continued cooperation to strengthen rural sanitation and Panchayati Raj administration in the district.
