Lucknow: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, continues to reinforce India’s global reputation in entrepreneurship research through its internationally recognised, peer-reviewed Journal of Entrepreneurship (JOE). Published quarterly by SAGE Publications, the journal has established itself as a leading platform for scholarly research and academic discourse in the field of entrepreneurship.
Edited by EDII Director General Dr Sunil Shukla, the Journal of Entrepreneurship enjoys a strong international presence and is indexed in major global databases, including Scopus, Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), ABDC Journal Quality List, EconLit, ProQuest, EBSCO, and ANVUR, the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes. Established in 1992, the journal serves as a multidisciplinary forum for researchers, policymakers, educators and practitioners worldwide. The publication welcomes original research papers, conceptual studies, case studies, analytical commentaries and perspective articles covering areas such as entrepreneurial behaviour, business strategy, innovation, leadership, family business, social entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
By encouraging contributions from disciplines including economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, history and management, the journal promotes diverse analytical perspectives and cross-disciplinary research, generating insights that are valuable for both academia and industry.

Highlighting the journal’s recent achievements, Dr Sunil Shukla said, “For more than three decades, the Journal of Entrepreneurship has provided a credible platform for advancing entrepreneurship knowledge. The past year has been particularly significant, with our H-index increasing from 34 to 37 and our Impact Factor rising from 1.9 to 2.5. As India’s research continues to gain global recognition, these milestones reflect the growing importance of entrepreneurship research in driving economic development and long-term sustainability.”
