Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has added another international sporting achievement to its record as Subhash Budiya Chaudhary, a student of the Department of Yogic Science, won a bronze medal at the World University Woodball Championship held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
A native of Gopalsar village in Sri Dungargarh, Bikaner district of Rajasthan, Subhash represented India at the World University Woodball Championship and the Thailand Open International Woodball Championship, organised from July 4 to 9.
Partnering with Banshi Lal, Subhash secured the bronze medal in the Stroke Doubles event, bringing laurels to India, Rajasthan and MJPRU. The prestigious championship featured university teams from India, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Pakistan, Malaysia and Indonesia, making the achievement a significant milestone for the university.
Congratulating the medal winner, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh described the accomplishment as a proud moment for the university.
“Winning a bronze medal on the international stage reflects the dedication, talent and hard work of our students. It also demonstrates the success of the university’s efforts to promote excellence in sports. Guided by our motto ‘Charaiveti, Charaiveti’ (Keep Moving Forward), we will continue to encourage students to excel at national and international levels,” he said.
Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh and Controller of Examinations Dr. Anil Kumar Yadav also congratulated Subhash and wished him success in his future sporting career. They said the achievement reflects the university’s growing reputation for excellence in both academics and sports.
