Rae Bareli: In line with the instructions of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Government of India, New Delhi and under the guidance of District Magistrate District-Raebareli, a campaign was launched to eradicate child begging, child labour and destruction of slavery in the Tehsil-Sadar area of the district under the joint leadership of Labor Department, District Child Protection Unit, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Child Line, Child Welfare Committee and Health Department.
During this, shopkeepers, hotels, dhabas etc. were inspected by the team, in which a total of 03 children were found doing child labour at 05 shops. After which, taking action, challans/notices were given to the operators. Service employers/operators were instructed that in future, child labour should not be done by children below 18 years of age (minor children) otherwise strict action will be taken against the concerned.
The inspection team included Child Welfare Committee member Milind Dwivedi, Labor Officer Ankit Singh from Labor Department, Rakesh Kumar Pal, Protection Officer Virendra Pal from Man Singh Child Protection Unit, AHTU Police Station Inspector Rakesh Chandra Anand, Sangeeta Mishra, Titu Gautam, and other team members from Child Line.
