Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Mahakumbh 2025 has been honoured with the National e-Governance Award for Innovation, recognising the state’s successful integration of digital technology, efficient administration and innovative governance in managing one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
Welcoming the recognition, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma described the award as a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s administrative excellence and its commitment to technology-driven governance. He said the honour reflects the state’s ability to successfully blend India’s rich spiritual heritage with modern digital solutions and efficient public service delivery.
Sharma noted that Mahakumbh 2025 had earlier received the Government of India’s Swachhata Excellence Award, and the latest national e-Governance recognition further reinforces Uttar Pradesh’s achievements in event management, sanitation and digital innovation.
He recalled that the government had envisioned Mahakumbh 2025 as a digitally enabled event from the outset, with technology playing a central role in planning, crowd management and public services. The national recognition, he said, validates that vision and establishes new benchmarks for large-scale event governance.
The minister credited the achievement to the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, expressing gratitude for their vision and continuous support.
Congratulating all those associated with the event, Sharma acknowledged the contributions of government officials, security personnel, sanitation workers, technology experts and thousands of frontline workers whose dedication ensured the successful execution of Mahakumbh 2025. He expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh would continue setting new standards in digital governance, public administration and citizen-centric service delivery.
