Apulia: Italy is hosting the 50th G7 Summit. The heads of major economies of the world including Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India have gathered in this summit held in Apulia, Italy. These include US President Joe Biden, British PM Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
PM Modi received a warm welcome on reaching Italy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Apulia, Italy to participate in the outreach session of the G7 summit, was given a warm welcome. Although India is not a member of the G-7, it has been invited as an outreach country. PM Modi wrote in a post on Instagram, “I have reached Italy to attend the G-7 Summit. I look forward to having meaningful discussions with world leaders. Our goal is to solve global challenges and promote international cooperation for a brighter future.” PM Modi will meet global leaders.
Prime Minister Modi will participate in the outreach session of the G-7 summit at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. During this, the PM will also meet many global leaders. Sources said that during the outreach session, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. These meetings will mainly focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Energy, Africa and the Mediterranean. It is believed that the US can also raise the issue of Khalistani Pannu during this time.
Apart from this, PM Modi is expected to hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Although no bilateral meeting of PM Modi with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is scheduled, he is likely to meet him during the photo-op.
Prime Minister Modi has reached Apulia, Italy to participate in the outreach session of the G-7 summit. According to the schedule, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron from 2.15 pm to 2.40 pm. After this, he will hold talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak from 2.40 pm to 3 pm. Prime Minister Modi will join the G-7 summit at around 7 pm. During this, he will do a welcome photoshoot with Italy’s PM Georgia Meloni.
The outreach session of the G-7 summit will start at 5.30 pm. At around 9 pm, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. After this, he will meet with Italy’s PM Meloni. PM Modi’s round of meetings with Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida will end. In the end, the Italian PM will also host dinner.
