Lucknow: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, a special yoga session was organized at the headquarters of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission in Aliganj, Lucknow. The programme reflected a strong commitment to wellness at the workplace, with officials and employees collectively taking a “Fit to Skill” pledge.

The session was conducted under the leadership of Additional Mission Director Pooja Mishra, who actively participated in the yoga practice along with senior officers and staff members of the mission.

Collective Yoga Practice and Guided Session

Under the guidance of a trained yoga instructor, participants performed various asanas including Tadasana, Vajrasana, and Bhujangasana. The programme also included pranayama and meditation sessions such as Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, and Bhramari, aimed at improving both physical and mental well-being.

Participants were also briefed on the health benefits of each asana and breathing exercise, along with guidance on incorporating yoga into daily routines for improved efficiency and stress management.

“Healthy Body, Calm Mind for Better Outcomes”

Addressing the gathering, A.M.D. Pooja Mishra emphasized that yoga is not merely a one-day activity but a disciplined way of life. She said that employees working in the skill development sector can achieve higher productivity only when they are physically healthy and mentally balanced.

She highlighted that “a healthy body and a calm mind are essential for better work outcomes,” and urged all employees to dedicate at least 15–20 minutes daily to yoga despite their busy schedules.

Commitment to Workplace Wellness

She further stated that the “Fit to Skill” initiative would be truly meaningful only when employees themselves adopt a healthy lifestyle and become ambassadors of both skill and wellness among the youth.

The programme concluded with a collective resolution to integrate yoga into daily life, reinforcing the message of holistic well-being, discipline, and enhanced productivity within the organization.
