Lucknow: Nearly ten days after the sensational murder of property dealer Sandeep Singh in Lucknow, police are yet to arrest the shooters who carried out the daylight killing, even as investigators claim to have cracked the conspiracy behind the crime.
According to police officials, two alleged conspirators have already been arrested in connection with the case, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the shooters. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Amit Kumar Anand said the assailants have been identified and multiple teams are conducting raids based on intelligence inputs. He expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested soon.
The murder took place on May 27, 2026, when Sandeep Singh was allegedly shot dead in broad daylight on a road in the PGI area of Lucknow. Investigators later revealed that the killing was allegedly orchestrated by Singh’s business associate, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, following a dispute over a property transaction.
Police said Dinesh Yadav, with the assistance of his driver, Mobeen, allegedly hired contract killers from another state to eliminate Singh. Both accused have been arrested and charged with conspiring to commit the murder.
According to investigators, the shooters arrived in Lucknow four days before the crime. They allegedly arranged a Honda Apache motorcycle, changed its registration plate, and conducted surveillance on the victim before carrying out the attack. After opening fire on Singh, the assailants escaped from the city on the same motorcycle.

Inspector Dhirendra Singh of PGI Police Station stated that police teams are working on several leads and have received crucial inputs regarding the whereabouts of the shooters. Crime Branch, Surveillance Units, and the Special Task Force (STF) have also been involved in the investigation due to the seriousness of the case.
The failure to arrest the shooters so far has raised questions about law enforcement’s ability to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice in a high-profile murder that occurred in the heart of the state capital. Police officials, however, maintain that the investigation is progressing and that the remaining accused will be apprehended soon.
The arrest of the shooters is now considered a key test for the Lucknow Police as the investigation moves into its next phase.
