Bareilly: A live telecast of the ceremonial worship offered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the sacred Somnath Jyotirlinga was organised at the MBA Auditorium of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University under the ongoing “Somnath Swabhiman Parv” celebrations on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh said that the Somnath Temple is not merely a religious site but a living symbol of India’s cultural pride, resilience, and spiritual heritage. He noted that such events play an important role in connecting students with the nation’s rich civilisational roots and cultural traditions.
Programme Nodal Officer Dr. Prem Pal Singh stated that the Somnath festival reminds society that faith and culture withstand the test of time, while creation and heritage remain eternal. He described the Somnath Temple as a symbol of India’s unwavering cultural determination.

Registrar Harish Chand, faculty members, university staff, and students from various departments attended the programme in large numbers.
