Lucknow: Bhatkhande Sanskriti University celebrated Gujarat Foundation Day with a series of cultural, social, and public awareness programmes on campus, in line with directions from state authorities. The initiative aimed to promote India’s rich cultural diversity and strengthen awareness on key social issues.
Garba Performance Showcases Gujarat’s Cultural Heritage
A major highlight of the celebrations was a traditional Garba dance performance, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Garima Tandon and Alka Mishra. The performance offered students and participants an immersive glimpse into Gujarat’s vibrant folk traditions.
Health Awareness Campaign in Adopted Villages
As part of its social outreach, the university organised awareness drives on SPV vaccination for residents of its adopted villages, including Belwa and Madhavapur. The campaign was further extended to Kathingra and nearby areas, under the guidance of Dr. Prerna Rana and Dr. Garima Tandon, aiming to improve healthcare awareness in rural communities.
Padyatra and Sports Activities Promote Engagement
A padyatra was also organised for students, beginning at the university campus and culminating at Hanuman Setu Temple. The initiative, led by Dr. Gyan Singh Patel and Krati Shukla, combined physical activity with spiritual engagement.

In addition, various sports competitions were conducted on campus to encourage physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork among students. The activities were coordinated by Dr. Garima Tandon and Dr. Abhishek Tripathi.
Promoting Unity Through Cultural Diversity
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mandavi Singh emphasised that celebrations of state foundation days strengthen the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and foster national unity through cultural exchange. Registrar Dr. Srishti Dhawan noted that such initiatives not only celebrate culture but also serve as effective platforms for public awareness.
The programmes witnessed active participation from students, research scholars, and staff, making the celebration vibrant and meaningful. The overall coordination of the events was managed by Dr. Ruchi Khare.
The university reiterated its commitment to promoting cultural heritage, social responsibility, and national integration through such initiatives.
