Lucknow: The Lucknow Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of a proposed road show in the Hazratganj area on April 21, 2026. In view of the event, extensive traffic diversions will be implemented from 6:00 AM onwards, depending on requirement.
According to officials, multiple key routes leading towards central Lucknow, including Hazratganj and surrounding areas such as Vidhan Sabha and GPO, will remain restricted for general traffic during the road show.
Major Diversions Announced
Traffic from Lalbatti Chauraha towards 1090 Chauraha, Polytechnic, Subhash Chauraha, and Chowk will be diverted via alternative routes including Katai Pul, G-20 Chauraha (Shaheed Path), and Cantonment areas. Similarly, vehicles from DSO Chauraha and Royal Hotel side heading towards Sikandarbagh, Park Road, Mahanagar, and Gomti Nagar will face restrictions and be rerouted via Sisendi Tiraha, Burlington Chauraha, and Kaiserbagh.
Traffic coming from Park Road towards Charbagh, Kaiserbagh, and Lalbatti will not be allowed via Hazratganj and will instead be diverted through Dainik Jagran Chauraha, Chiraiyajheel, and Subhash Chauraha.
Vehicles from Gomti Nagar heading towards Charbagh, Alambagh, Cantonment, and Chowk will be restricted from entering Hazratganj, Raj Bhavan, and Vidhan Sabha routes. They will be diverted through Samatamulak Chauraha, Green Corridor, Daliganj, or via Pipraghat and Dilkusha routes.
Similarly, traffic from Sikandarbagh, Parivartan Chowk, Hindi Sansthan, Lalbagh, and Telibagh areas will be rerouted through designated diversion points such as Sushila Smritika Chauraha, Subhash Chauraha, Alka Tiraha, and Dunlop Tiraha.

Bus Route Changes
Roadways and city buses will also operate on diverted routes. Buses from Mahanagar and Sankalp Vatika towards Charbagh and Kaiserbagh will be diverted via the Green Corridor through Daliganj and CDRI. Similarly, buses from Charbagh and Kaiserbagh heading towards Gomti Nagar will avoid Hazratganj and operate via Cantonment, Katai Pul, and alternate routes.
Emergency Services Exempted
Authorities have clarified that emergency services such as ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, and शव वाहन (hearse vans) will be allowed on restricted routes in case of medical emergencies, subject to coordination by traffic and local police.
