“It Feels Like the Era of Vaibhav Suryavanshi Has Begun”: Saba Karim

Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals continued their dominant run in the Indian Premier League 2026 season, securing their fourth consecutive win with a clinical six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The match showcased emerging talent, composed batting, and sharp fielding, drawing praise from experts on Star Sports’ ‘Amul Cricket Live’.

Jurel’s All-Round Batting Excellence

Former India all-rounder Sanjay Bangar lauded Dhruv Jurel for a well-crafted innings that highlighted his versatility.

“It was a very good knock. RCB tried to bowl wider to him, especially since in the previous game he had scored nearly 80% of his runs on the onside. But he proved equally strong on the offside, which shows there are very few areas where you can actually contain him in this format,” Bangar said, describing it as a “fantastic batting display.”

Hetmyer’s Fielding Sets the Tone

Bangar also singled out Shimron Hetmyer for his exceptional effort in the field, underlining a noticeable improvement in fitness and agility.

“Hetmyer has significantly worked on his fitness, and it showed. The catch to dismiss Tim David was just one of several impactful moments. For Devdutt Padikkal’s dismissal, he covered a lot of ground and adjusted brilliantly as the ball dipped. The catch to dismiss Krunal Pandya at long-off was even tougher, especially diving forward—but he timed it perfectly,” Bangar noted.

He added that such fielding performances are crucial in converting half-chances into wickets and supporting the bowling unit effectively.

A Star in the Making: Suryavanshi Shines

Former India wicketkeeper Saba Karim was particularly impressed with the fearless batting of young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

“This was an astounding display. It feels like the era of Vaibhav Suryavanshi has just begun. There’s immense talent, confident stroke play, and a mature approach,” Karim remarked.

He highlighted Suryavanshi’s ability to handle both pace and spin with ease, scoring freely across the ground. After an aggressive start in the Powerplay, the youngster showed maturity by rotating strike and building his innings.

“It looked like he was setting himself up for a hundred. Though it didn’t happen, the intent and mindset he displayed were extremely impressive,” Karim added.

Royals on a Roll

With four wins on the trot, Rajasthan Royals are emerging as one of the most balanced sides this season, combining youth and experience seamlessly. Their consistent performances with both bat and ball, backed by sharp fielding, are making them strong contenders in the tournament.
