Lucknow: The united Christian Easter procession was organized by the combined efforts of all the Christians of various denomination and institutions of Lucknow city. The initiation was taken by Mr E Macknight (secretary of the procession committee) in organizing this procession since last many years.
The procession was taken out on 05 April 2026 at 4:00 pm from Central Methodist church Lalbagh and will culminate at St.Joseph Cathedral Hazaratganj with a short worship service and thereafter fellowship in refreshment. The route of procession was Central Methodist Church , Cant road, Anand Picture hall, B.N road, Nurmanzil crossing, Novelty Cinema , Mayfair crossing and St.Joseph Cathedral.
Bishop of various denomination were present in the procession Catholic Bishop (Dr).Gerald J Mathias, Assembly of Believers’ Church in India Bishop Rt Rev. Augustus Anthony etc. At St Joseph Cathedral a small worship service was conducted the service was conducted by Fr Elias Cardoza , Opening prayer was done by Rev Lawrence Joseph from A.G Church .Scripture reading was done by Rev E F Baksh , Easter message was given by Bishop (Dr)Gerald John Mathias-Catholic Church .
Closing Prayer was done by Bishop Augustus Anthony of Assembly of Believers Church and vote of thanks was extended by Mr E Macknight , Amongst the Fathers & Pastors- Fr Lawrence Naronha (President Easter Procession Committee & Parish Priest- St Joseph Cathedral ), Rev Dr Manoj Singh , Rev. E F Baksh , Fr Donald D Souza, Fr.D.Naresh Lobo, Bishop Shailendra Das, Rev.Dr Arun Singh, Pastor Rajesh Dayal ,Pastor Dr Morris Kumar, Pastor Samuel Mathai , , Pr Rajji Massey , Br Mohit Stephen, Br Norris Paul were present.
Around 3000 people gathered for the Easter Procession.
