Lucknow: A wave of enthusiasm swept through the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Janata Dal (United) following the induction of young leader Nishant Kumar into the party. Party workers gathered at the state office in Lucknow to celebrate the development with great enthusiasm.
The occasion marked the formal entry of Nishant Kumar, son of Nitish Kumar, the National President of JD(U) and Chief Minister of Bihar, into active party politics. Leaders and workers described the move as a significant moment that has infused fresh energy into the party ranks.
State President Anup Singh Patel welcomed Nishant Kumar’s decision and said it had generated tremendous excitement among party workers. In his message, Patel noted that leaders and grassroots members had long been urging Nishant Kumar to formally join the party. “Today that demand has been fulfilled. His joining has created a wave of happiness and renewed enthusiasm among workers,” he said.
Patel also remarked that Nishant Kumar’s address during the membership ceremony reflected his determination to strengthen the party organization. According to him, the young leader’s entry will help reinforce the party structure not only in Bihar but also in other states, including Uttar Pradesh.

To mark the occasion, party workers assembled at the state office where they distributed sweets in front of Nishant Kumar’s photograph and congratulated one another. The celebration was attended by several senior leaders and office bearers, including State General Secretaries Bhaiya Harishankar Patel, Subhash Pathak, and Hari Kishore Uttam; State Treasurer Amar Singh Katiyar; State Spokesperson Prof. K.K. Tripathi; Kunwar Ajay Singh; State Office In-charge Omprakash Verma; State Media In-charge Manish Nandan; and State Secretaries Omprakash Gupta Kinkar, Jitendra Pratap Singh, and Nisar Khan.
Among others present were Lucknow District President Manish Srivastava, District General Secretary Tej Kumar Sarna, Lucknow Metropolitan President Manzar Abbas, senior leader Dr. Jitendra Singh Sachan, Sandeep Verma, Musafir Singh, Brijbhushan Singh, C.L. Verma, Rakesh Singh, Phool Chandra Arya, Kiran Dwivedi, and Rishabh Singh Rawat, along with hundreds of party workers.
On the occasion, prominent Lucknow-based physician Dr. Anand Verma, owner of Anand Nursing Home, also joined JD(U). Expressing admiration for the party’s ideology and the policies of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he pledged to work actively to strengthen and expand the party organization in the state.
