Mumbai: O’ Romeo has stormed into cinemas with a gripping blend of poetic romance and blood-soaked vengeance. While Shahid Kapoor commands attention with a fierce, never-seen-before avatar, it is Triptii Dimri who has unexpectedly become one of the film’s most talked-about highlights.
Stepping into the role of Afsha, Triptii sheds her soft-girl image and pivots sharply into action territory. Known for her layered performances in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala, the actress once again proves her command over emotionally complex characters — but this time with an added edge of ferocity.
Afsha is a vengeful widow who channels grief into grit, transforming into a calculated lady hitman determined to avenge her husband’s murder. Triptii balances fragility with fierce resilience, allowing silences and subtle expressions to convey the storm brewing within. Her restraint becomes her biggest weapon, making every shift in emotion feel deeply earned.
Sharing screen space with Shahid Kapoor for the first time, Triptii matches him step for step. Their dynamic — her quiet intensity against his hyper-charged persona — fuels a chemistry that feels anything but tentative. Despite being a first-time pairing, the duo displays remarkable sync, elevating the emotional and dramatic stakes of the narrative.

Under the direction of Vishal Bhardwaj, Afsha is presented with the same gravitas often reserved for male leads in revenge dramas. The film’s ensemble cast — including Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nana Patekar, and Farida Jalal — further strengthens the narrative canvas.
With O’ Romeo, Triptii Dimri adds another compelling title to her growing body of work. Much like her memorable performances in the past, Afsha leaves a lasting imprint — only this time, she does so with a gun in hand and vengeance in her eyes. If her earlier roles showcased vulnerability, O’ Romeo marks a bold level-up, proving she’s not here to play it safe.
