Mumbai: Actor Vishaal Mohan, who will soon be seen in Yadavji Ki Love Story, says acting was never part of his original plan. Having featured in over a hundred television commercials and assisted leading filmmakers, Vishaal initially aspired to become a director.
He began his film journey as an assistant director on Guzaarish under acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and later worked as an AD on Aisha. “Acting happened unexpectedly,” Vishaal shared. “My dream was always to direct, but the camera eventually turned towards me.”
Despite two of his earlier films not releasing, the actor now has three projects lined up back-to-back. In Yadavji Ki Love Story, directed by Ankit Bhadana, he plays a sincere young man. He will also appear in Aashiqui Imtehaan Leti Hai, helmed by Shareeph Mansuri, and Mehndi 2, directed by Hamid Ali, where he essays contrasting roles.

The film recently faced objections over the use of the surname ‘Yadav’ in its title, with the matter reaching the Supreme Court of India. The court ruled that the title carried nothing negative and advised against over-sensitivity.
Addressing the issue, Vishaal said, “No filmmaker sets out to create controversy. We simply want our work to reach audiences.”
