Dia Mirza speaks her heart out at Spoken Fest

Mumbai: Award-winning actor, producer and UN Goodwill Ambassador Dia Mirza delivered a deeply personal address at Spoken Fest, reflecting on what she described as her emotional “homecoming” and her lifelong bond with nature.

Speaking to a packed audience, Dia recalled a childhood memory of watching her father paint a rainforest on her school wall — an image that became a source of solace after his passing. Years later, amid the pressures of a demanding film career, a visit to the forests of Pench helped her reconnect with stillness and purpose. That transformative experience, she said, reshaped both her personal journey and professional choices.

Marking 25 years in cinema, Dia enters 2026 with projects including Operation Safed Sagar, IKKA, a web series with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and her award-winning short Panha. Beyond films, she continues her climate advocacy and will debut as an author this year.
