Lucknow: A workshop dedicated to Sanskrit songs, titled “Sanskrit Geetani,” was inaugurated under the joint aegis of Sanskrit Sansthan and Jyoti Kalash Sansthan in Lucknow. The workshop aims to promote Arya language Sanskrit through musical compositions and devotional singing.

The inaugural session was held at Amod Ashram in Gomti Nagar under the guidance of trainer Guru Asha Srivastava. The event was formally opened in the presence of Prof. Dr. Usha Sinha and Dr. Rashmi Srivastava, who lauded the initiative to revive interest in Sanskrit through music and collective participation.

Providing details about the workshop, General Secretary Kanak Verma informed that twenty participants attended the first day of the session. She emphasized that the workshop has been designed to encourage people of different age groups to connect with Sanskrit in a simple, engaging, and melodious manner.

The session began with a traditional Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati:

“Matah Saraswati kuru kripam iha,
Janani sumatim dehi me.
Karavani gunagana gayanam,
Tava mangalam cha vidhehi.”

The devotional hymn set a serene and spiritual tone for the workshop, with participants joining in chorus under the direction of Guru Asha Srivastava.

Among those who took part on the first day were Archana Gupta, Jyoti Kiran, Alka Chaturvedi, Madhuri, and Manu Rai, along with several other participants, bringing the total to twenty attendees. The organizers expressed satisfaction over the encouraging response and enthusiasm displayed by the learners.

Speakers at the inaugural ceremony highlighted that Sanskrit, often regarded as the mother of many Indian languages, holds immense cultural and spiritual significance. Through initiatives like “Sanskrit Geetani,” organizers aim not only to preserve the classical language but also to make it accessible and enjoyable for the younger generation.
