Lucknow: In a bid to strengthen the city’s infrastructure, Lucknow Municipal Corporation’s ongoing CM Grid Phase-2 project came under the scrutiny of Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar on Thursday. The on-site inspection was conducted near Vibhuti Khand Police Station, where multiple construction activities are underway to enhance modern urban infrastructure.
Under the project, a 3-kilometer-long stormwater drainage system, sewer lines, electrical ducts, water supply lines, and organized footpaths are being constructed. Officials informed the Commissioner that a 300-meter sample stretch has already been completed in the initial phase, with stormwater lines, sewer lines, electrical ducts, and water supply lines fully installed. Footpath construction in the area is also progressing rapidly.

During the inspection, Commissioner Gaurav Kumar reviewed the quality, technical standards, and progress of ongoing construction. He instructed officials to complete the footpath works within the prescribed timeframe, ensuring safe and convenient pedestrian movement for residents. He also issued clear directives to connect all sewer lines to the trunk line, which will help prevent future waterlogging, sewer overflow, and drainage issues.

Commissioner Kumar highlighted that the CM Grid Phase-2 project represents a significant step toward the city’s smart infrastructure development. He emphasized that the initiative will not only improve traffic management but also ensure the comprehensive development of drainage, sanitation, electrical infrastructure, and citizen amenities. He urged construction agencies not to compromise on quality and to complete all works in accordance with technical standards.
The inspection was attended by Chief Engineer (Civil) Mahesh Verma, Executive Engineer Zone-4 Atul Mishra, along with other municipal officials and staff.
