Major Aircraft Mishap Averted in Prayagraj, Training Aircraft Crashes into Pond; Both Pilots Safe

Prayagraj: Panic gripped the Civil Lines area of Prayagraj on Monday after a training aircraft lost control and crashed into a pond near KP College, close to Medical Chauraha. The incident triggered chaos in the busy locality, but a major tragedy was averted as both pilots on board were rescued safely. No casualties have been reported.

According to eyewitnesses, a loud noise was heard moments before the aircraft was seen plunging into the pond, leading to fear among residents and passersby. The pond was covered with water hyacinth, which initially hampered rescue efforts. However, local residents acted swiftly and bravely, reaching the aircraft and pulling both pilots out without delay.

Both pilots are reported to be completely safe and did not suffer any serious injuries, bringing relief to authorities and locals alike. Soon after receiving information, senior officials from the administration and security forces reached the spot, cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation.

Preliminary assessment suggests a possible technical snag during the training flight, though officials said the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed inquiry. The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of training flights in urban areas.
