Mission Shakti 5.0 Awareness Drive Held at Aliganj, Focus on Women’s Safety and Cyber Awareness

Lucknow: Under the ongoing Mission Shakti Phase 5.0 campaign, the Aliganj Police Station team of the Lucknow Police Commissionerate organized a special women safety and empowerment awareness programme at Kapurthala Crossing in the Aliganj area. The initiative aimed to spread awareness among women and girl students about personal safety, legal rights, and cyber security.

The programme was conducted under the directions of Police Commissioner Lucknow  Amrendra Kumar Sengar. As part of Mission Shakti 5.0, Mission Shakti Centres have been established in all 54 police stations of Lucknow district, each staffed with dedicated officers including inspectors, sub-inspectors, and women officers to ensure prompt redressal of women-related grievances.

During the awareness drive, Sub-Inspector Ravindra Nath Prajapati, Sub-Inspector Pragati Singh, and Woman Sub-Inspector Aashi Gupta interacted directly with women and girls present at the venue near Bhatia Showroom, Kapurthala Crossing. They provided detailed information about important police helpline numbers such as 112, 1090 (Women Power Line), 181, 1076, and the cyber crime helpline 1930.

The police team also explained the role and usefulness of initiatives like Pink Booths, Pink Scooty patrols, Women Help Desks, and Mission Shakti Centres, encouraging women to make use of these facilities whenever required. Special emphasis was laid on cyber safety, with guidance shared on the use of the UP COP mobile application and precautions to prevent online fraud and cyber crimes.

As part of the programme, women and girl students were educated about identifying and preventing crimes against women, understanding good touch and bad touch, and adopting personal safety measures. The officers motivated participants to become self-reliant, confident, and aware of their legal rights and support systems available at the local level.

The objective of the Mission Shakti awareness programme was to empower women and girls by enhancing their knowledge of safety measures, legal protections, government schemes, and emergency support services. The initiative was widely appreciated by participants, who acknowledged the importance of such outreach programmes in building a safer and more sensitive society.

Police officials stated that such awareness campaigns will continue in the future as part of Lucknow Police’s sustained efforts to strengthen women’s safety, promote legal awareness, and encourage social empowerment across the city.
