Lucknow/Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh’s Urban Development and Energy Minister, A.K. Sharma, conducted a comprehensive on-ground inspection of the mela area during his visit to Prayagraj, closely reviewing the preparations being made for the large influx of devotees. During the inspection, the minister issued necessary directions to concerned officials, emphasising that the convenience, safety and cleanliness of the crores of devotees visiting the mela remain the government’s top priority.
Minister Sharma instructed officials to ensure that sanitation, drinking water supply, lighting arrangements and traffic movement remain smooth and uninterrupted at all times. He stressed that continuous monitoring should be carried out to maintain high standards of civic services across the mela premises.

While touring the area, the minister interacted directly with devotees who had arrived from various districts and states, seeking their feedback on the arrangements. Devotees expressed satisfaction over the extensive and well-managed facilities provided in the mela area and thanked the Urban Development Minister for the effective arrangements. Taking note of their feedback, Sharma directed officials to further strengthen facilities wherever required.
Demonstrating a strong sense of human sensitivity, Minister Sharma also interacted with sanitation workers deployed in the mela area, enquiring about their welfare, accommodation, food and other basic facilities. He directed officials to ensure that personnel engaged in cleanliness and essential services do not face any inconvenience. During the inspection, the minister was also seen affectionately interacting with a small child of a health worker, reflecting a compassionate and humane approach.

Speaking on the occasion, A.K. Sharma said that the mela is not merely an event but a confluence of faith and service, where equal respect and care must be extended to both devotees and the personnel managing the arrangements. He instructed officials to strictly comply with the directions issued and remain fully committed to their responsibilities.
Senior officials from the Municipal Corporation, Jal Nigam, Power Department and other concerned departments were present during the inspection.
