Lucknow, India |  Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow, added another milestone to its legacy by winning prestigious awards at the BEAT-2025 National Cardiovascular Summit held in New Delhi on October 12, 2025.

During the summit, the Voice of Healthcare Cardiac Excellence Awards 2025 recognized some of India’s leading cardiology experts. Prof. Aditya Kapoor, Head of the Cardiology Department at SGPGI, was honored with the “Academic Excellence in Cardiovascular Medicine” award for his outstanding contributions to cardiology, medical education, and cardiovascular research. His efforts have significantly advanced the field and improved patient care outcomes across India.

Under Prof. Kapoor’s guidance, SGPGI has developed robust training programs and evidence-based research initiatives, leaving a lasting impact not only within the institute but across the nation’s healthcare system. The award committee highlighted his academic leadership, numerous research publications, role in developing national guidelines, and advocacy for data-driven policy in cardiology, setting new standards for clinical and educational practice.

In addition, SGPGI received the “Excellence in Digital Transformation in Cardiovascular Disease Care” award, recognizing the institute’s pioneering use of digital tools, data systems, and technology-driven learning platforms to enhance patient management, streamline care, and expand access to quality cardiovascular services.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Kapoor expressed gratitude, stating, “Receiving this honor from Voice of Healthcare is a privilege. This award truly belongs to our dedicated faculty, staff, and trainees who work tirelessly to advance cardiovascular medicine. Our collective mission is to transform research and innovation into better patient outcomes.”

He also acknowledged the visionary leadership of Prof. R.K. Dhiman, Director of SGPGI, whose guidance has been instrumental in promoting innovation, academic excellence, and institutional growth. Under his direction, SGPGI has evolved into one of India’s most advanced tertiary care centers, integrating clinical service with education, research, and technology.

The BEAT-2025 National Cardiovascular Summit brought together India’s top cardiologists, researchers, policymakers, and healthcare innovators to discuss emerging trends in heart disease management, preventive care, and digital transformation.

The dual recognition — Prof. Kapoor for academic excellence and SGPGI for digital innovation in cardiovascular care — underscores the institute’s unwavering commitment to advancing heart health in India through research, innovation, and patient-centered care.
