Lucknow: Preparations are complete for the upcoming **Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign**, scheduled to run from October 5 to October 31, 2025, across the district. Additionally, a “Dastak Campaign” will be carried out between October 11 and October 31.
The announcement came during a District Task Force meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium on Monday, chaired by District Magistrate Vishakh G. The District Malaria Officer informed that hotspot mapping has been completed zone-wise with support from the Smart City initiative, identifying Zones 4, 5, and 6 of the Nagar Nigam as sensitive.
The DM directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to earmark separate beds for communicable disease cases in medical facilities across zones. The CMO confirmed that 10 beds each have been reserved in all urban health units. The DM further stressed ensuring adequate testing kits at CHCs and assessing testing capacity in both government and private hospitals.
Fogging and anti-larval spraying activities were also reviewed. The Nagar Nigam informed that 110 hand machines and 60 large machines are currently being used for spraying. The DM instructed officials to prepare rosters for effective implementation.
As part of the special campaign, awareness drives will be conducted. Under the Dastak initiative, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will visit households to identify individuals with fever, influenza-like illness, TB, leprosy, filariasis, kala-azar, and malnourished children. Data will be uploaded on the *E-Kavach portal*, and families will be informed about Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA ID).

The meeting was attended by CDO Ajay Jain, CMO Dr. N.B. Singh, Nodal Officer Dr. Gopilal, District Malaria Officer Dr. Ritu Srivastava, representatives from CHCs, and partner institutions.
Along with the Health Department, departments of Urban Development, Panchayati Raj, Child Development & Nutrition, Rural Development, Medical Education, Agriculture, Education, Irrigation, Basic Education, Animal Husbandry, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Information & Public Relations, State Tax, Namami Gange & Rural Water Supply, Food Safety & Drug Administration, and Horticulture will actively participate in the campaign.
