Alice in Borderland Season 3

Japanese suspense thriller returns with familiar faces and new mysteries

Washington, DC : The highly anticipated  hit Japanese suspense series Alice in Borderland Season 3 has officially been announced and is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 25. Following its global success, the series is back with deeper mysteries, intense drama, and thrilling action.

Directed by Shinsuke Sato, Season 3 continues to adapt the critically acclaimed manga by Haro Aso, pushing the story further into the surreal realm that blurs the boundaries between life and death.

Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprise their lead roles as Arisu and Usagi, who emerged victorious from the deadly games of Season 2. This season sees them as a seemingly happy couple haunted by nightmares of the Borderland. The twist comes when Usagi mysteriously disappears, only to return to the Borderland under the guidance of a new character, Ryuji (played by Kento Kaku), an afterlife researcher.

A distraught Arisu is visited by Banda, who now resides permanently in the Borderland, and reveals Usagi’s location. Arisu must once again risk everything and re-enter the perilous world they once escaped.

Season 3 welcomes new cast members including Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu, and Kento Kaku, while familiar faces like Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma return.

The creative team remains largely intact, with production handled by Robot in collaboration with The Seven. The lineup includes production designers Iwao Saito and Shin Nakayama, cinematographer Taro Kawazu, composer Yutaka Yamada, and writers Yasuko Kuramitsu and Shinsuke Sato. Action direction is led by Yuji Shimomura, with Akira Morii and Tomoki Takase producing and Atsushi Doi heading visual effects.

Season 2 previously topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 list for non-English TV series, and with its gripping plot and expanded cast, Season 3 is expected to raise the stakes even further.

Fans across the globe are counting down the days until Alice in Borderland returns to challenge their minds and emotions once again — only on Netflix.
