Lucknow: As part of the International Yoga Day celebrations under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan organized a mass Surya Namaskar session at its campus.

Renowned yogacharya Dr. Hans Kumari led the session and explained the numerous health benefits of Surya Namaskar. She emphasized that the practice enhances flexibility, strengthens the body, boosts energy, improves digestion, reduces stress, and sharpens mental focus. Dr. Kumari encouraged everyone to make Surya Namaskar a part of their daily routine, noting the importance of deep breathing during the practice.

Under her guidance, students from various disciplines practiced each Surya Namaskar posture with precision and enthusiasm.

The event witnessed the presence of institute chairperson Dr. Kumkum Dhar, vice-chairperson Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, faculty members, staff, and students. The collective spirit highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting holistic well-being and its deep-rooted connection to India’s cultural heritage.
